Transmission Shifter Issue

Has anyone else noticed that the shifter can be moved from Drive, to neutral, to reverse without hitting the brake or being in a complete stop? All my other vehicles never had this and I am wondering if it's just a design flaw for the 2011 Grand Cherokee.

Re: Transmission Shifter Issue

It will not actually engage reverse.. it shifts the jeep to neutral, but will not shift into reverse while moving forward (at least at a substantial speed). My dog has knocked my jeep into reverse while going around 35-40 mph. It just stayed in neutral.

Pretty normal to shift into neutral without depressing the brake. I'm not sure about reverse, but since it doesnt actually shift to reverse, I don't think it's a design flaw at all.

How did you teach the dog to drive 35 - 40 mph?
