I have the same issue with 2012 Jeep Liberty, 3.7 liter, V6.

Any new news on this issue? My 2011 GC Ltd 4x4 is having the same issues... I am going to start a different thread, but figured I would ask here as well.

Thanks,

Re: Transmission Shudder

Not just 5.7 's . My U.K 2011 CRD has just started to shudder badly between 40-60 mph and between 1500-2000rpm randomly but frequently on the highway at light throttle and slight incline.
Only owned the Jeep for 5 weeks and 32k on the clock.
Had Grand Cherokees for 20 years and hardly ever been back to the dealer WTF have Fiat done to this brand ?

Re: Transmission Shudder

I recently ran across a web search where people used SHUDDER FIXX FRICTION Modifier to fix this issue. So, I added this to my transmission fluid and immediately it helped, some. It didn't fix the problem completely, but I'd say the shudder issue has gone from completely unacceptable and shuddering on every incline to now shuddering only occasionally. I can probably live with it the way it is now, but now I'm curious if I change the transmission fluid and add the modifier, or if I add more modifier, if that will help more. But I'm not sure if I should add any more.

Re: Transmission Shudder

Very Glad I found this Thread! I have a 2013 Grand Cherokee Overland w/ 5.7L HEMI. I have approx. 47k Miles on it and for the last few months I have been experiencing the "Shudder" or "Fish Bite" effect in all the ways described in this forum. It's particularly annoying when sitting at a light w/ slight incline and I take my foot off the brake and the Shudder begins until you press on the gas pedal. Once it revs above 1000 RPM the shudder goes away. Also as mentioned, I definitely feel it when cruising on the highway, lifting off the gas pedal ... decelerating a little, and then feathering the gas pedal a bit to keep my current speed.

I also feel the Shudder and a somewhat of a bad vibration when accelerating hard on the highway.

Lastly I feel all of the "Odd" shifting typically between fist and second gear and also when coming off the highway and the trans is downshifting.

I've had this into the dealer 3 times now and each time I was told "No transmission Codes, No Engine Codes, All is normal"

I'm bringing it in ASAP to get the TSB applied. I'll let you know how I make out. Thanks for all the GREAT info on this Forum!

I have the same issue with my 2010 V6 Laredo on the highway at low RPM's with a slight incline. Sounds like the answer is live with it...

Re: Transmission Shudder

Update: Had the TSB applied today ...no doubt there is a Considerable difference.
Right out of the gate I can tell the trans is shifting MUCH BETTER. I'm not convinced it's a 100% better , but I would definitely say it's 90% without question.

I drove many highway miles and tried recreating the issue while accelerating from 60ish and it seems as if the issue is gone .

The issue at a stop on an inclime seems to be better but not totally resolved. I feel a Slight shudder (like a fish tugging on your line) but it's definitely better .. I can live with that.

I'm curious to see if my mileage gets better , but I guess I'd I were concerned, I should have opted for the V6.

Now the question is do I chop out the resonators. . Damn V8 is waaaay too quiet.
I'm not spending $1500 for a full exhaust.

Which TSB exactly was applied and did it only go for 2013...as I have a 2011 V8 Overland

Re: Transmission Shudder

Any of you with the 2011 to 2013 hemi model with the fish bite shudder that has my tuning shoot me an email at hemifever@hemifevertuning.com for a tune update. I've been doing something lately that folks say pretty much removes the issue. Could use some more folks trying it though.

I had the TSB 18-035-14 applied .. I honestly cannot tell you if it applies to the 2011. You can search the web on that TSB - it should tell you.

Good Luck.
