Re: Transmission Shudder
I had a 2011 overland hemi 4x4, did the same plus other problems. Traded it in on a new 2012, exactly the same just different color, hoping the first was just a bad vehicle. My new one does it now after about 1200 miles so I'm hating chrylser right now. Long story short, took mine in to the dealer, got vocal, got a copy of a chrysler service bulletin concerning this issue. They call it shudder/fishbite, involving the torque converter. There is a possible fix that should be available feb 2013. I don't believe its a torque converter problem. The shop foreman told me it was a lean issue. He hit it right on the head. To meet epa guidelines and to increase gas mileage the computer is not giving the engine enough gas during light to medium acceleration, basically starving the engine. That is exactly what my jeep feels like its doing, sputtering up the hills. There are no fixes for this right now. The only hope is if someone comes out with a chip or programmer that can modify the fuel settings. If there are any programmers for these jeeps let me know.
