Re: Transmission Shudder

Experienced issue as all but using regular gas again (87 oct) instead of 89 made a significant improvement. Can almost not notice it anymore. Love my 2011 GC Hemi 4x4 Summit.

Re: Transmission Shudder

After several aproaches and workshop-visits I got now the confirmation from the dealer that my claim is accepted and they confirmed as well, that Chrysler is aware of it.
The service engineer showed me an internal information which he got after I approached Chrysler US directly. They informed, that they work on a specific soft-ware-update which will come latest Feb. 2013.
So...lets keep our fingers crossed....
otherwise I am very happy my GC...

Hope this will be a fix across all model years and not just the newer ones!

Re: Transmission Shudder

Just wondering if anyone has heard of if the software fix for this issue ever came out. My dealer heard something was "in the works."

Re: Transmission Shudder

On Jeep Forum a member posted a comment today that said the dealer he was in contact with today said the software update will be available on 07\13...... He stated that the dealer was informed of this by Chrysler, his post is under Transmission Shudder and 2012 transmission problems. Hope this helps... BTW I just got my Jeep back today and had the transmission Valve Plate replaced and this has been a BIG Improvement in shifting and it eleminated the "Clank" when shifting from Park-reverse-neutral to drive. I love my Jeep and hope this update will help with the shudder. Good day to all.

Re: Transmission Shudder

Just an update to my last post.... I had to make the DREADED TRIP TO IKEA Today and to my Finance's and I's amazement The Tug/Pull or Fish Bite was gone. I tried any way I could to make the transmission produce the issue but it has been all cleared up. I tried it in Auto and Sport modes both with Tow/Haul on and off and it did not tug one time. Looks like the New Valve Plate did the trick for this issue as well... Hope I did not jenks myself but I am happy and just wanted to pass this along in hope this will help any of you with the 5.7 HEMI and the 6 Speed Auto Transmission. We have 17600 miles on the jeep so far and now it is running like new. Also the dealer replaced the Glove Box Dampener and this totally stopped the rattle from the glove box when the jeep was in ECO Mode on the Highway. Again We drove 370 mile today from Suffolk To Woodbridge and back and NO TUG/PULL OR HESITATION.... HELL YEA!!!!!!!

Re: Transmission Shudder

Add me to the list, now. I did some driving through the Blue Ridge yesterday and felt (what I think) is it. Almost felt like the trans wanted to kick down but wouldn't.A few pages back, Bad007 said his dealer indicated that a update was coming Feb- March 2013. If and when things like this come out, are we notified, or is it something that only gets applied if you happen to go tho the dealer? (which I rarely do).

Re: Transmission Shudder

To all members with the tug/pull or hesitation at highway speeds...40-65mph on the 5.7 hemi, i would suggest you look into the tsb for the transmission valve plate replacement. I had this done a few weeks ago and have had no problems since. We have put about 1000 miles on the jeep since we picked up from the dealer.... I am not going to get the transmission update in july as i have no issues, in my previous posts i described the issue and the results, not only does it stop the tug/pull it also stopped the clank when shifting the trans to drive or park and so on..... This may be just a fluke thing that my issues have been solved but i pass it along in hope it will help others, our jeep is still under warranty for 30000 miles so i had no out of pocket expense but i would have paid for it if i had too. If your jeep is under warranty i would suggest you have this done, its not going to make it shift any worse. Good day.

You are only notified about recalls. You need to ask for it to be done when you go to dealer. Plus if your car is out of warranty you will probably have to pay as well.
