Transmission Shudder in 7th gear
Thanks for all the help in my previous posts and other threads I've read through. It's all been very helpful.
Unfortunately my 14 WK2 diesel is acting up again. This time it seems to be the transmission. At around 55-60 miles per hour my Jeep all of a sudden feels like I'm driving across a washboard. It's jerking/shuddering fairly violently. No MIL or anything has come on yet but it seems to be worse when the transmission is warm. It mostly occurs in 7th gear but putting it in 6th or 8th doesn't seem to make it go away completely, just a little less violent. It also seems to occur regardless of whether I have my foot in it or just sort of coasting down a hill not touching the gas at all.
Since I don't seem to notice anything in the TSBs about this and I think I have the latest flash from February, this recent development seems to me to be mechanical. Anyone else experience something similar? Is this minor and repairable or am I looking at something more serious? It really is a safety issue for me as I don't know if the thing is about to give out or what and going 60 MPH isn't a good time for a transmission failure.
Any help would be great! Thanks!
