Transmission, Steering Wheel, Vibration

So I am bringing my 2014 Grand Cherokee in tomorrow for another service visit. They have tried to re-align the steering wheel to center 2 other times and this is the 3rd attempt at that.
I am also having them check out the transmission as when I was stuck in traffic last week the shifts from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and in reverse from both of those starting getting really abrupt and even a little loud, like it was crashing into gear without altering the input speed.
Additionally, and possibly related to the alignment, I think one of my front wheels is out of balance. I am getting a vibration in the steering wheel at lower highway speeds on smooth roads. Usually I would say I likely threw a wheel weight or something minor, but it is very inconsistent and does seem to vary slightly with the angle of the steering wheel.

I know all of these are typical issues that have been vetted on the forums to date, but if anyone has specific TSB's or experience in what some of these require to fix I would be happy to push the issue with my service department if I dont like their initial answers.

If you have the V6 here is the TSB to improve shifting: http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_2100713b.pdf

Thanks, this is good to have. Yes, I do have the V6. I probably should clarify for anyone else....

I have a 2014 Laredo V6 with the All Weather Capability Group, Class IV Trailer Tow Group, and the RA3 and 18" Wheel Group.

Re: Transmission, Steering Wheel, Vibration

Just heard from the service department... They said the Transmission is fully updated and shows no signs of any problems. There is a note on the paperwork that the 8-spd transmission is known to be EXTREMELY sensitive to throttle inputs. They also have been trying to straighten out my steering wheel issue all day and the service manager is going to take it for a ride to determine if it is all set. They had the truck for 7 hours, and they never even bothered to check the balance of the front wheels as I had asked. Now they tell me they dont have a shuttle to bring me back to the dealership so I have to find a ride to go get my car, even though they drove me home before instead of providing a loaner vehicle.

To recap, this is now the 3rd attempt at the steering wheel and the first of, i fear, many on the transmission. Sadly, I am already prepping the Lemon Law Letter as I refuse to be stuck in my 39 month lease with known problems they cant seem to figure out.

Re: Transmission, Steering Wheel, Vibration

Update... They fixed the steering wheel finally so that is some good news. They also determined the vibration at certain speeds was being caused by misalignment in the front wheels and the tread pattern causing a shimmy.....we'll see if that reasoning holds up over time.

The transmission is not fixed, but a conversation with the service manager explained that the issue is a "known problem" by Jeep/Chrysler. He went on to say we will have an update on the software "soon".....any thoughts?

Re: Transmission, Steering Wheel, Vibration

Give the transmission some time with the update.
It's not perfect but hopefully will improve.
