trunk

While at work i started my truck and just thought about this....

I reverse into my spot and what if you accidently popped the auto trunk ?

My assumption is that there is no detection system and it would just open and slam into the wall, same goes with in the garage.

Any thoughts , ill try it at home lol

If you pop it parked too close to your garage door, it will hit the garage door.
Luckily, a rubber bumper was already on the garage door for another reason...

Re: trunk

I have had a similar thought about the new Ford Escapes with the foot detection rear hatch opener. What would happen if you back into a low snow bank? Would the hatch open?

If you "back" into that snowbank, the key should already be detected, because you are driving. So, what does happen? The same would apply if packing into a parking spot -- with parking block...

What if a cat or small dog runs under the rear bumper...with key fob in their mouth of course?
