I am quite aggravated, does anyone have an idea what area of Chrysler I should contact?
When you asked the service manager why they wouldn't do the TSB, what was the answer?

Re: TSB Numbers for 14 WK2 Issues

Their reason is no update is available. I talked to another service writer over the phone, he is going to look into why that was claimed tomorrow.

This should be fairly easy, as vehicle was made 8-13. The TSB is for any 5.7 vehicle made before 11-13. I should have taken the car is for my dad, but I thought printing out the TSBs and telling him exactly was to say would be enough.

My point to the dealer was this. If he walks in armed with information and documentation that 99.9% of the customers don't have and cant get his vehicle updated properly, what chance does the rest of the buying public have of getting the updates done?

Re: TSB Numbers for 14 WK2 Issues

I have a June 2013 build and I have noticed the transmission issues that are part of the TSB (lurching when downshifting 2-1 before coming to a stop). How do I go about requesting this flash or whatever the dealer fix is?

Do I just go in there and say hey I'm having issues with my transmission, i heard theres a TSB for it, can you do it please? Also, do these cost money or how does the financial aspect of a TSB work?

I took in print outs of the TSBs and they willingly made the updates.

I am under warranty -5k miles.

Re: TSB Numbers for 14 WK2 Issues

Just a note about TSB's. It's been said before, but I will repeat. Just because you tell the service writer there is a TSB, he is not obligated to perform it on your vehicle. If you read the TSB's carefully, they are performed because the vehicle owner presents the service writer with symptoms specific to a TSB. And generally the tech must be able to reproduce the problem. Of course this may vary depending upon your relationship with your dealer service department. On the other hand, TSB's designated as RRT's or Recalls will be performed automatically if your vin is listed when they run it for any service.

Re: TSB Numbers for 14 WK2 Issues

Agree with what jack said. highlight what the problem is you are having and then say and by the way there is a TSB to correct this and hand them a copy. or that's what I do anyway. if you go in and say load this stack of TSBs it probably will not be a very good visit.

Re: TSB Numbers for 14 WK2 Issues

The visit started with an explanation of the issues that have been present, and then the discussion about the applicable tsbs.

It was two tsbs, not a stack. I'm sorry, but for almost 50 grand I shouldn't have to play games to get my vehicle updated with current software for problems I have experienced.

Re: TSB Numbers for 14 WK2 Issues

for any amount of money paid you should not have to beg for them to fix it. that is where the differences between dealers comes in, some are ok many are rotten. it may not be convenient but going to a different dealer can make all the difference. should it be that way no, but unfortunately that is the way it is. you can service your jeep at any dealer it does not need to be where you buy it.

Sounds like the shitty service I've received at the Chrysler/Jeep dealerships in my area. I finally had to start a case file at Chrysler Customer Care and asked them to identify a dealership in my State that would perform the reflash TSBs my vehicle needed. Withing a week they gave me the name of a dealership, and they performed the work.

Same bullshit though whenever I walk into a Jeep dealership wanting TSBs to be performed...

"Can I have you VIN number Sir...(inputs info into computer)...nope, there are no TSBs for your vehicle."

I've bought many new cars in my life...from many different manufacturers, and in my experence dealing with Chrysler/Jeep dealerships is the WORST!

when they enter the vin it is probably only spitting out the RRTs and recalls that's why they say you have nothing. doesn't mean you don't have other issues that are part of a tsb though. as easy as it is to load a software update and if a customer is stating they have that exact problem you would think they would just do it to get them on their way instead of fighting with them. I agree of all the different manufactures I have dealt with (I am not loyal to any brand) Chrysler is the worst. but as I said above the dealership where you go can make a huge difference, the decent ones are few and far between. if I didn't like the jeep as much as I do I would have gotten rid of it long ago. working through the many new car bugs in this one is the worst part once you get through them it is a nice ride

Re: TSB Numbers for 14 WK2 Issues

if they dont do it, call customer server (Chrysler) and tell them you are having the problem, found the TSB, and the dealer wont do it. Chrysler will then get in touch with the dealer... have your last 8 of the VIN handy when you call.

Re: TSB Numbers for 14 WK2 Issues

Back when I owned my 2012 Subaru STI, when I took it in for it's first free oil change, the dealership performed a reflash without me even asking for it.

That's what I call sevice...not like fighting the Chrysler/Jeep dealerships to perform highly repeatable TSB requests. The service is even BETTER at the BMW dealership my wife bought her car at.

"Your free oil change is all done...and we changed your wiper blades as well"

My later built Overland has been good so far, but having to go through the poor service again I've encountered at Chrysler/Jeep dealerships would be enough to drive me away from Jeeps and never look back.
