Re: TSB Numbers for 14 WK2 Issues

The first time I brought mine in for the transmission update the tech claimed it did not apply to my vin even though the tsb said it did and I showed him. I told him he was wrong, and contacted Chrysler through their website. They said it did apply, contacted the dealership and the second time they installed the update no problem.

I also requested a different service adviser the second time who looked up the tsb and listed it on the pre-work order. The first adviser said I can't just give them a tsb, I have to describe the symptoms. contact Chrysler if a dealer gives you the run around. They will help you

Re: TSB Numbers for 14 WK2 Issues

TSB Update:

I contacted Chrysler, they told me to expect a call, one never came. I also was told by the dealer to expect a call the following day after my initial complaint that the work didn't get done. That call never came either.

So I called the dealer, and talked to the service adviser assigned to the vehicle. He apologized, and kept repeating no update is available for the vehicle. He also pointed to the vin and build date and said it didn't apply to the vehicle. I reminded him its for all 5.7 vehicles built before October, and his retort was the tech said there was no update available. He also said if their was an update, of course they would have done it, they are paid by Chrysler to do so.

When I asked how a vehicle built before the date on the tsb doesn't have a software update available, when it has no record of an update being done, I was told "not sure, I don't know what to tell you." I asked for the software build that is currently on the vehicle, he said he didn't have that info. When I asked if I could bring it back in and get that info, he told me it would be a few weeks before he had an opening.

So that's where this stands. He also mentioned Chrysler called him and he told Chrysler no update is available per the info they got when the vehicle was hooked up. The software update is secondary at this point, my big issue is the dealer couldn't call me back when they said they would, and Chrysler failed to do the same. (Their email clearly stated they would be contacting me, I have heard zero from Chrysler/Jeep)

Based on this experience, I doubt another Jeep product will be on the horizon. It is a simple TSB. If there is no update, don't claim the vin and build date don't coincide. Have the current build of the software noted. And call a customer back when you say you will. What a joke...

Ha.....
I went this week to change the water pump that fail at 6500 and left them the TSB's that I have accumulated in the past 3 month and they did nothing.
Typical poor service and lack of been proactive in finding out the as test and greatest updates to our Brand new in warranty services.

This should be fairly easy, as vehicle was made 8-13. The TSB is for any 5.7 vehicle made before 11-13. I should have taken the car is for my dad, but I thought printing out the TSBs and telling him exactly was to say would be enough.

My point to the dealer was this. If he walks in armed with information and documentation that 99.9% of the customers don't have and cant get his vehicle updated properly, what chance does the rest of the buying public have of getting the updates done?

" DIAGNOSIS: If the customer describes the symptom, perform the repair procedure."

What symptom did you describe? While the tranny tsb applies to cars built before a certain date, the repair procedure is only done if the customer indicates a specific problem. In this case, there is probably no link to specific vins. It's not a question of I know it exists, so I want it.

I would still recommend trying another dealer.

Two things...

I explained I had the symptoms described in the tsb. Plus, if that is their excuse, fine. But they never said they didn't do it because I didn't have the described symptoms.

I will not accept the run around I have been given. I will be attempting this repair with another dealer.
