Re: U Connect does not recognize "mobile" phone book entry
Well, my process may not be a complete fix or workaround. The pager issue gets fixed doing that sometimes, and sometimes not. I have not figured out which way the wind is blowing to know specifically what fixes it.
When I fixed the pager problem the first time, lets say my contact was Jane Doe and Jane had a mobile number and two or three home numbers. Uconnect sees her record as having a Home and Pager number with no Mobile. Editing and update the phone book did not change anything. So, I renamed the contact by changing the first and last name to something completely different. Then I created a new record for Jane Doe, first the mobile, then the home (additional home numbers I put them as "Other"). I updated the phone book and looked at the contact and presto, I had Jane Doe with a Home and Mobile. At this point I thought all was well. However, when I use voice recognition to call Jane Doe, the confirmation comes back and ask Call Jane Doe..... or Mobile? It should come back and say Call Jane Doe Home? or Mobile? I should be able to say either. If I respond "Home", Unconnect does nothing, if I say Jane Doe, it does nothing, if I say "Mobile" it dials the mobile number.
I got this same behavior with the original firmware / map when the vehicle was delivered. With the most current firmware and maps, the voice recognition behaves identically. The new firmware gave numerous UI improvements, Weather Radar display etc. But now fixes that I can tell on the voice recognition or cell phone contact list management.
So, long way to go here. And I am not sure how to get there from here.
