Had a problem with my 75th Anniversary Laredo UConnect update this evening. I downloaded the update to a USB stick and the update downloaded in the Jeep...until right at the end the screen started to cycle through a black screen then red/black screen then a white screen where it said something to the effect "Please insert update USB". This screen cycled through for 10 mins before I called UConnect customer support. Apparently this is an issue that has been happening to "a few" of the 2016 Jeeps. I will have to take it to the dealer now to have it reset. I wish I had known this was a potential issue...I certainly wouldn't have attempted an update going into a holiday weekend road trip. I have my fingers crossed this can be resolved quickly. If anyone has also had this issue I would love to hear how long it took to be resolved and what the issue turned out to be. Thanks!
Dealer service had the Jeep for about an hour and was able to get the radio reset. They used the term "flashes," said it took two. I was told the radio was working but was "sluggish" and they are going to order a new one and replace it. I'm happy with the service department, their response and for fitting me in to a busy day. This may be the solution if you also have this issue. I hope it's not a widespread issue with the 2016 8.4" (non-nav) uconnect radios.
