Re: Underbody corrosion

Simple green to wash off the dirt, Eastwood Company with various products to fight rust, and Eureka fluid film are your friends.

Re: Underbody corrosion

Looking at the picture of the transmission again I can't help but think the car was actually sitting in fairly high water. There seems to be a line of where it was sitting that is highly corroded. With that said I use Rupp Aluma Guard on boats and have never had a problem with metals in constant contact with salt water.

Maybe.......but I also use a marine product called 'Salt Away' to rinse the undercarriage, 2-3 times during the winter. It helps.

Can you please post up photo's of the underbody of your Jeep & note it's age.
You can contact me directly if you prefer.
Hi jeeppete916 (Ducati owner?),
I have just purchased a second hand 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 27K on the clock and when I looked under the car, it was exactly the same as yours! Before reading your post I thought that the seller had taken a trip to Fraser Island and run along the beach into the ocean. Did you treat the underside with any coatings. I am thinking of rubbing some of the alloy and steel bits back and spraying CorrosionX on them.
Cheers
Don
