uneven mufflers

Hello All,

I noticed that my drivers side muffler/tip hangs lower than on the passenger side. The passenger side looks like its where it should be. Does anyone know how to adjust the muffler? I made an appointment with the dealership, but if it's a quick fix I'd be willing to do it myself.

Thanks!

Re: uneven mufflers

blow torch, hammer to adjust the hangers - it's not easy, it does take time.

got pics? maybe not worth the hassle if it's .00005 mm off

Re: uneven mufflers

Bend the hanger rod (the piece welded to the exhaust system, that is inserted into the rubber hanger) to suit. Use care not to dent the resonator or tailpipe.

Or let your dealer do it. If they dent/bend something, they will have to fix it. Inspect after the repair.

Re: uneven mufflers

sounds more labor intensive than I want to deal with...it's actually a good 1/2 to 1 inch lower. I'll let the dealer fix it and make sure it looks good when I pick it up.

Will snap a pic a little later and post it. It's definitely noticeable.
