Unlocking doors with disconnected battery

Thanks to all the members who made it a real easy decision to buy a JGC Laredo 2012. Very happy!!!
The manual states:
VEHICLE STORAGE
If you are leaving your vehicle dormant for more than
21 days you may want to take steps to protect your
battery. You may:
• Remove fuse #J13 in the Totally Integrated Power
Module (TIPM) labeled Ignition-Off Draw (IOD#1).
• Or, disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

My question is if the battery is inside the car, how do I unlock the doors to get at either the battery or open the hood when I come back from my trip? Is there a certain way to do this and not get locked out of your vehicle?

Re: Unlocking doors with disconnected battery

OK.... Figured it out. Didn't see the key hole next to the door handle.

Re: Unlocking doors with disconnected battery

You can use your key to unlock the driver side front door to gain entry to your vehicle. Once inside you can release the hood lock and/or unlock the other doors for access to the battery.

Yeah, seems so, but thanks for your help. I guess it's just the natural excitement of owning a new Jeep, there are some things the eyes don't see. Still settling in!
