Vehicle Security Light stuck on

Our 2 week old Overland had its first problem today.
My wife started the car as per normal and it then stopped. We tried again and it did the same. The car would run for 2 seconds then stop. During this problem the red security light just near the temp gauge was lit. I then removed the battery lead and "rebooted" the car. After that the car ran, but the light will not go off. This is after locking and unlocking using the fob and starting and stopping several times. While the car works fine, this is annoying.
Can anyone tell me what I should try, the manual is no help.

Re: Vehicle Security Light stuck on

Looks like I have found a problem that nobody else has.
Anyways the car has been fine, aside from the light. I plugged in my ODB2 scanner and checked that there were no error codes, there we none.
I then pulled the batter off for another 2mins and this fixed the problem. No more light staying on. Glad I do not need to go to the dealer.

Re: Vehicle Security Light stuck on

Ok, that is a new one for me. I did have the air condition vent issue but turned the system off for about 10 min. then back on and everythign works fine. Glad you go the light off. I had issue with clearing the oil change due message until the service girl told me how to clear it. Thought the tech would have done that but guess not he was ready to go home.
