Vented Seat Rattle

I would like to know does anyone is having this noise issue with the vented seat? Everytime I turn on the driver side vented seat I can hear either the motor or the fan rattling, it does not happen on the passenger side only the driver side. I took it to the dealership this weekend and they replaced the motor and just picked it up and it is still rattling. I can upload the video later on this evening.

Re: Vented Seat Rattle

I would have to say that mine run silent. I don't think that I ever just sat in the car with them on and listened for them. When they are on, I guess the road noise covers the sound of the ventilation. I wish they were a little stronger though. Sometimes I have to lean forward slightly to really feel the air moving.

Re: Vented Seat Rattle

It sound like something is contacting the fan blades or the fan itself is binding, perhaps even rubbing against the housing. It could be bad bearings, but that would normally be accompanied by some sort of consistent whine or howl. A rattle like that is usually the result of rubbing or something in the path of the blades.

It sounds like the equivalent of a baseball card in your bicycle spokes...

That fan will likely have a short lifespan if not addressed.

Re: Vented Seat Rattle

I bought it back to the dealer this morning and talk to the advisor and he called the tech to inform him the problem still exist. The Tech told the advisor that he replaced the motor on the passenger side and not the driver side. So they are going to order a new motor for the driver side and a new dip stick for the TSB.

Re: Vented Seat Rattle

Sorry I traded in my 14 v6 Limited for a 14 HEMI Overland. I just forgot to change my profile.

Hopefully they'll hire a new dip stick as a replacement for the service writer or the tech--whomever responsible for not changing the correct fan.
