Another week goes by and still no update from Jeep/Chrysler on the issue. Thrilled.

Re: Vibration in the 2014 grand cherokee summit

You guys may find this amusing...

After 4 visits between 2 different dealers, 2 different Service Managers acknowledging there is an issue with the car, the tech from Jeep came to the dealership to take a look at what's going on. End result - "working as designed". 3 different sets of tires, 3 balancing efforts, road force balancing, alignment, there has been no change in the ride.

I'm at an absolute loss over this. While I have an attorney already, this response from the tech is throwing a kink in the whole thing. Any suggestions for how to handle this? I will drive this thing into a wall before I accept this as a quality vehicle.

I was persistent and I did not stop until they agreed to replace vehicle.

I received my new vehicle after 8-9 weeks and I replaced the Goodyear Fortera with the Firestone Destination ST and there is considerable improvement in handling and turn in , much more responsive

Yes. My case manager was the one who arranged the visit from the tech.

My attorney told me that Chrysler did not want me calling anymore since I have an attorney. I've been nothing from calm with everyone to-date, so I can't imagine it has anything to do with that.

Is the vibration a side-to-side shimmy of the steering wheel? The reason I ask is that they may be going down the wrong path if you actually have a driveline vibration instead.

On this vehicle, a driveline vibration will present as:

1) a "fast" vibration in the steering wheel. Sort of like a cell phone vibration in terms of frequency and it may pulse in and out. A buzzing, humming or rough "feel" is often reported.

2) a "booming" or rumbling sound with an associated feeling you may pick up in the floor or seat.

I suppose it is because you hired an attorney .
I gave Chrysler the choice , either replace the vehicle or go lemon law .
Chrysler made the decision to replace .
Do you have copies of all the work orders each time you brought it in , in case you are forced to go lemon law.
You have to watch the dealers , they may not open a new work order each time.

Hi Peter,

1. Yes, this is present including a visible shaking of the wheel side-to-side. I do not believe I've ever heard of the buzzing, humming, etc you are referring to though. Although, at one time I heard a buzzing coming from the right side of the car, but it has went away since.

2. This is present as well. You feel this in both locations you mentioned.

That's funny, because the last two times the vehicle has been in they have failed to provide paperwork. I have a timeline documented for all visits, however.

I'm still on their butts to provide it, but it's like talking to the wind.

Re: Vibration in the 2014 grand cherokee summit

I had mine back eight times and I also paid local shops to have road force balancing , wheel alignment and two front tires mounted and it never went away . I dial indicated every rotating part on the front end .
The dealer tried different wheels tires and nothing worked .
Has Chrysler actually been in contact with your attorney?
