Voltage indicator.

Is there any indicator of any type to warn you of a charging problem? We have no guage and/or option on the EVIC to check charging status.

Just curious

Re: Voltage indicator.

Check your owner's manual?

The '14s have it selectable in the cluster. They all have idiot lights.

The 2011-2013's didn't give a voltage readout, but they did have a digital coolant temp reading. The 2014's give a voltage readout, but they took away the coolant temp digital readout. Kind of cheap. I know the 2014's have the analog coolant gauge, but those things are never accurate.

What would it have taken to keep both?? $0.25 cents per vehicle??

You should have an idiot light show up in the cluster when turning the key to the run position without starting the veh. After starting the idiot light should go out. If not it needs to be checked out.

Just thought is was odd but actually never noticed. Heck I even have one on my lawn tractor..
I do remember on my WJ years back the indicator started to fluctuate. I had the charging system checked and sure enough the alternator was on its way out. I was able to head it off.

Re: Voltage indicator.

Easy enough to install a small digital or led style volt meter to any hot wire. $14 and up on amazon.
