Walk up auto unlock?

When we first bought our 2011 GC laredo, when you walked up to it it would unlock.

Took it to the dealer to have a spare key made and programed and now it doesnt auto unlock. Looked through the settings on the EVIC, said something about auto unlock, and it was on. But its not working.

Any thoughts?

Re: Walk up auto unlock?

Hi,
What happens now? do you have to unlock it by pushing the fob? or can you grab the handle and it unlocks?

Re: Walk up auto unlock?

Are you sure it would unlock when you walked up to it, without touching the handle?

Re: Walk up auto unlock?

Thats why my wife said.. She said it automatically unlocked without having the key in her hand. Now you have to push the unlock button on the key fob.

Re: Walk up auto unlock?

Well, she is correct. If you touch the inside of the handle, it will unlock as long as you have the fob on you. I took your post to mean that it would unlock without touching anything.

Re: Walk up auto unlock?

No you took the post right, lol. She said as she walked up to it, within 10 ft it unlocked and the lights flashed. We had it for a day, and then took it back to the dealership to have another key made..

I think she is crazy.. All the reading ive done I havent seen anything about auto unlocking.

Re: Walk up auto unlock?

Something in her pocket or handbag could have been pressing on the button.

Or maybe you had one key in your pocket and she had the other, but you reached for the passengers' handle as she was 10ft away - thus you unlocked the door while she thought it was her doing so?

Re: Walk up auto unlock?

This is odd. Mine has only done it when I spray water directly on the handle during a wash.
