Basicly all I want is a warranty that acts like the 3 yr bumper to bumper...but extended to 5 yrs 60,000 miles.
So you don't have a phone? It's a lot easier to discuss the details in a conversation than in back and forth emails.

Social media like twitter and facebook are making people forget what real conversation is all about.

Of course I have a phone...

...I just don't want to deal with a pushy salesman. It would have been nice though arming myself with numbers before hearing the pitch from the dealership when I take delivery.

Nothing wrong with my communication skills, I just save the talk for someone worthy.

Jeep5 is on a distinguished road
I just purchased a 2011 GC Overland with 36,700 miles and a Zurich 5/65000 service contract for $3482 which I promptly cancelled when I did a little shopping around.
MOPAR also has a 5/65000 Maximum Care $100 deductible for $2875 but as with Zurich they subtract the age of the car so really, it's a 3 yr contract. They also offer a Maximum Care Lifetime for $3627 +tax.
A local dealer is offering a Chrysler 8yr/120,000 warranty (minus 2 years for the age of the car) for $2350 +tax.
I have been solicited by Chrysler Warranty Direct (Rodney) trying hard to sell me the Chrysler/MOPAR Maximum Care Lifetime for $2285.
What's the saying? If sounds too good...
Has anyone dealt with this company?

They're a Chrysler dealer, and there are a number of other dealers that do volume business on the MaxCare service contracts that will get you into one around the same price. Shop around.

Re: Warranty Pricing???? Help!

Okay guys, I gather that there are a lot of loyal Jeep fans out there apparently for a variety of good reasons. However, I have read some posts where no matter how much they love their Jeeps, they expect problems and advise getting an extended warranty.

Not only have I never owned a Jeep (yet), I have never felt the need to purchase an extended warranty. It appears that some like Chrysler Warrantys .com and others like Chrysler Factory Plans .com . However, I also found Chrysler-Warranty-Online .com .

1. Do you recommend an extended warranty on a new 2013 Jeep GC?

2. Since they carry the same Chrysler warranty, who is the least expensive?
(So far most believe Chrysler Factory Plans .com gives the best deals as far as I can tell)

I have never bought a warranty. My only other Jeep was an '07 Liberty that I traded on an '11 MDX. In that time I did nothing but oil changes. Only car I ever owned that didn't go back for something.

That said, if I decide to keep the '14 for more than three years I will buy a warranty. Just like any insurance (except Life) I don't expect to use it. But today's vehicles are beyond my ability to diagnose or repair. If just one system fails, the warranty will pay for itself.

In my case it will not be expensive because I'll be looking at a 5 year total, low mileage warranty.

Re: Warranty Pricing???? Help!

I took delivery of my '14 Overland on Saturday. I took a copy of Zeigler's (CHRYSLER SERVICE CONTRACTS: Extended Warranties from Chrysler. SAVE 60%! Quick Quotes. Buy Online.) quoted price for my vehicle with me. The business manager at my dealer immediately said he would match this price for me. Done deal! I've purchased extended service contracts for every vehicle I've owned since 1984, and every one of them payed for itself. I keep my cars an average of 6-7 years.

Thanks bill. I have not owned a Chrysler product since 1972, which was a 1968 Plymouth Road Runner. All of my new vehicles since then have been Fords and I have never needed an extended warranty. Just lucky is how I feel.

Consumer Reports has never given Chrysler many kudos, but have recommended the Durango and newer Jeep GC. However, they do note that the some Hemi models have been less than average in the reliability department. Like anything, I take it with a grain of salt as the problems could be anything (other than the engine) and may have only needed repair via TSBs.

Thanks jacko. The only reason I've been inquiring is because I may be keeping my Hemi GC for up to 8+yrs. I take good care of my vehicles and don't expect to do much off-roading; however, I do plan on flat-towing it behind a DP motorhome. I've seen other posts regarding matching the price too, which is a good equalizer since it is the same Chrysler warranty.

I really don't need to add the warranty at time of purchase in order to include it with financing. So I may give it awhile and decide before I reach the one year/12,000 mile mark and just pay the $100 or so extra if it would be applied.

Re: Warranty Pricing???? Help!

I bought the added car plus rather than the Maxcare simply because between the $500 delta and $100 deductable I ran replace a lot of lightbulbs.

Also in Florida (not everywhere) the "service plan" is transferable so could add to resale.

All of that said I tend to keep cars I like waaay past the sell-by date and would prefer not to do a/c work (mmost common expensive item here). A decade from now (when most compressors start to fail) it could easily equal the cost of the service plan.
