Re: Water Leak Pano Sunroof

Are you sure it's coming from the sunroof? There are other points of entry. Things I've read here mention roof-rail mounts, hatch seals, and others. Just sayin'.

Re: Water Leak Pano Sunroof

Just an update, I installed a set of Rhino Rack roof racks and this required me to replace most of the roof rail bolts with the ones that came with the kit.

I made sure to use a lot of blue loctite on all of the bolts (even the few I didn't have to replace) and I haven't seen any leaks since. (knock on wood)

Snowman, any updates? I have developed the leak from sunglass holder area as well and it's pretty bad.

We've had some pretty decent rain since I installed my racks last year and I haven't seen a drop from my sunglasses holder.

It might be worth it to take the screws that hold the side rails out and apply some blue loctite to seal the thread gaps.

Because that carwash cleans the entire vehicle...inside and out...

Which might help avoid the high speed wheel shimmy the OP was experiencing.

Resolved my leak issue today. I used a flashlight to check on the sunroof drains and when looking between the bottom of the drainage channel and the headliner I noticed the rubber hose on the right side that is supposed to connect to the drainage hole was not connected. I removed the light console, sun visor and grab handle and was able to squeeze my hand in there and pull the hose back on to the plastic end. I'm hoping this solves my leaking. The leaking seems to have caused my automatic wipers to stop working as the water has likely shorted the sensor. I'll be having the dealership fix that.
