Re: Water pump Geyser

I'm also going on my THIRD water pump....

2011 GC Laredo / Hemi. First pump went at approx 48K 01-2013 (there were only a few available nationwide then). Now I've got 70K (only one available in N. America) Good luck on that part lasting.

Rant:
-Chrysler has had one year, at least, to begin making new parts.
-It's acceptable that mechanical parts break and wear out. It's completely unacceptable not being able to supply the public with a replacement part.

Chrysler had been poor to deal with in resolving this issue so far. In the next few days I'll be seeking legal counsel and exploring Federal Warranty Laws.

Any question please send me a PM.

Sounds like you're looking for a way to throw away money via a lawyer. The law doesn't require stock to be kept just that the parts are being made (and that's a bit debatable on timing), which they are.

I agree. I'd be more annoyed that I was at 3 then the part being on back order...

I had two 4.0L's last one went 12years/220K and still had original. I'm pretty sure. Unless they caught it weeping one day on normal service and replaced it and I forgot. Never broken down or do I recall any water pump issues though. I loved those 4.0L inline 6 engines.

If I owned a HEMI though I think I'd buy a spare pump.

Mine ate fuel pumps and water pumps found out my clutch fan unbalanced ate em up. Fuel pumps even with delphi pumps every 15 to 20k miles. I actually cut a whole in the spare tire well for quick changes!

Not one fuel pump ever in my Jeeps (both 4.0L).

One was a 94 GC and the other was 2002 GC (which I replaced just this August with the 2014).

I think I changed the spark plugs and wires once.

Original Exhaust, Transmission, on both too. No work ever done on AC either.

Plenty of suspension work though. And busted Damper doors in the HVAC.

The 2014 has a high bar to live up to.
