Re: Water under seat

Hi all I am new to the website. I have a 2012 Laredo that has this same issue. Is there a fix available to prevent this from happening? Also would this cause the air to smell like mildew when the AC goes off?

Re: Water under seat

Where exactly is this plug? Can someone post a pic please? I looked under the Jeep yesterday and could not find it. The youtube link vid does not clearly show where the plug is exactly.

Re: Water under seat

It is on the left side of the drive train tunnel, around the position of the shifter. Maybe 8-10 inches below the top of the console.

You can see it if you pull the plastic panel on the driver side carefully of. Start with the plastic in the footwell, and then you can remove that. It is just clipsed together. With removing the plastic panel in the driver footwell ou can also see the HVAC condenser.

The drain plug has flimsy clips and a stiff grommet. I broke my clips by checking the proper seating (it actually did). So that was 25 bucks.

It drips right in the middle of the car, but if you have the transfer case skid plat it drips on them and depending on the position and leveling of the car runs of somewhere of it.

Re: Water under seat

Bought a brand new 2013 Cherokee Laredo X today and had to turn around 1/2 mile from the dealer lot because of this water sloshing sound. I've been here at the dealer for a few hours now and they seem to not know what has caused this to happen. Weird considering it is talked about like its a normal thing here. First time Cherokee owner - just gave up my Commander. Any thoughts?

Re: Water under seat

If that plug is still in the floorpan, I'm betting it's from when they detailed it before you took delivery.

Re: Water under seat

Thanks for the help/advice. This forum is more intelligent than the guys working at the dealer IMHO.
