Week old Summit Auto stop and start fail

I was wondering if anyone with a 2016 JGC summit with auto start/stop, for the econo fuel saving mode has gone bad. I am getting a message from the jeep stating that there is a problem. The jeep now rattles real bad and the check engine light is on and beeping. I had to drive it home and wondering if the shaking will cause other pieces to get loose. It stinks that the thing is only a week old. Can anyone shed some light on what is going on?

Re: Week old Summit Auto stop and start fail

Not sure why you are even asking. I would make a u-turn and head straight to dealer. Since it is throwing codes left and right it should be quite easy for them to find out.

That being said, hopefully your Jeep dealer is better than mine because mine always says either that it can't find anything wrong or that is how it should be.

Re: Week old Summit Auto stop and start fail

Did you attempt to turn the auto start/stop feature off to see if you could atleast drive it without all the issues until you could get it to the dealer? How do you know the issue even has anything to do with start/stop feature?

This is the first report of an issue with 2016 I have seen on the forum.

Hi whitm,

If you havenít done so already, I would be happy to help you make an appointment at your FCA dealership, or provide any other assistance you might need. Feel free to PM your VIN if you need me!
