Weird buzzing after shutdown.

Has anyone experienced a weird buzzing sound a few seconds after you shut the engine off? It is very faint but I can definitely hear 3 distinct buzzes - one after the other. Sounds like it is coming from behind the dash. Almost sounds like that arcing thing in the old Frankenstein movies. Not as loud, but the same kind of sound.

Mine is an '08, but dealer told me it's the MyGig drive running for some time period.

Recommend you try a stethoscope to localize to see if it's the same for you.

I hardly notice anymore.

Possibly the blend, mode, and recirculate door servos in the HVAC if you have an auto climate system.

I have the same thing in my '11. I also have the 3.6L. Maybe it's something with the new V6 engine? You are right though. the sounds seems to be coming from the driver's side behind the dash (most likely in the engine compartment)

5.7 here. Yeah, I hear all sorts of sounds/buzzes/electrical ticks/fan behind radio, noises when I shut it down. Decided I've got to stop worrying about every little thing or I'll drive myself crazy. The truck's running great and I think I'm going to try and adopt the attitude; "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", and stop looking for problems where there probably are none!! :slapfight:

 After this next visit to the dealer, I think I am on board with the same attitude. Everyone thinks I have all these issues with the Jeep and it's actually never had a problem yet. It's more about me getting all these TSB's completed. It's one of those thing that you don't realize something was a problem until they have a fix for it and you think "oh it wasn't supposed to be that way?" One can drive themselves crazy keeping up with it.

x2 on the MyGig

Just my two cents but my mygig can buzz due to the hard drive still operating. Not all the time, and it's faint, but I do hear it coming from the dash area. I cycle the key again from off to on and back off, and the buzz goes away.

I have an 05. I definitely do have the buzz but definitely do NOT have MyGIG.

I had a sound fitting this description in my 04 Jetta. I'm pretty sure it was HVAC related, as somebody mentioned. Whatever it was, it sounded like it was something that was supposed to be happening, and not a problem.

Also, hard drives don't buzz unless they're broken. (I'm in I.T.) A slight whine or hum, but definitely not a buzz. And the small size drive which is likely in the mygig should be nearly silent.
