Hey all,
Occasional lurker here. This forum has helped my learn how to replace the dying dash fan in my 2012 Altitude, how to install tow hooks, and identify the source of the mysterious rattle "somewhere" behind the driver (it was a known sunroof issue).
Now a buddy says my WK2 leaked oil on his driveway while I was there for a short visit. The dipstick reads a little low, so he might be right. Examining the undercarriage is a little hard, because there is a healthy layer of sand and salt and snow over everything, and a few hours of driving have passed uneventfully. A quick check underneath shows a few candidate areas that might be "wet" with "something", but no smoking gun.
Anyway... for the sake of learning, can someone tell me the correct names of the 3 parts highlighted in the two attached photos (ripped off the internet; not my car)?
The large silver block in the second photo is the current suspect.
Apologies if these parts are obvious... I didn't know how to change oil before I bought my WK2, so I'm learning... Thanks.
