What happens if..

Bored.... read this and answer without cheating.

The rear hatch is open.. You hit the lock button on your remote...

1) The doors lock the hatch stays open.
2) The Jeep beeps at you.
3) The hatch closes and the doors lock.
4) Nothing happens.

I'm sure a few of you guys have done this already.

What happens if..

Never tried this, but I have locked the doors while the hatch was closing.

I'm gonna say # 3

What happens if..

Why would that mean they missed a step bmw's are the same way it's intentional. Why if you just needed something out of your trunk would need to unlock all the doors as well?

It's the same as far as closing they are separate of each other when the hatch is closed its locked. It's not unlocked and closed. And when it's open its unlocked.

Re: What happens if..

1 on mine.

Typical thing we do after we've been out, open the tailgate from inside, all get out and go to grab our bags from the back, shut and lock the doors. Last one to pick up bags presses the close button and watches the tailgate lock. It addresses the case where you are going to be walking away with your hands full and don't want to have to put things down to lock the doors.

I wish it wouldn't unlock the doors when I open the tailgate though, I keep meaning to search for a way to disable that. First time I went back to the Jeep for something I ended up leaving it open for hours because I didn't suspect the doors would unlock too and hadn't checked.
