When does the car throw a code?

Question...
When you get an error message in the display, does it throw a code to be retrieved?

Or does the MIL need to be lit for a code to be set?

Re: When does the car throw a code?

Any time the Jeep detects an error, a code should be stored. Some are permanent until cleared and others may reset if the trouble goes away but generally if there havs been 0-2 restarts the code should be there. Definately. Maybe. (I'd need to review the actual programming to know).
