Hi, I have a 2011 Grand Cherokee and lately when it's cold it makes a loud whining noise when started- it's not the noise a belt makes at times (I consider that a screeching noise
) If it runs for several minutes the noise lessens but whines again when using the accelerator. A co-worker said the same thing happened to his Jeep and it was the transfer case. I told the service dpt about the transfer case. It was a warmer day when I brought it in and they said they can't check the transfer case because it wasn't making noise. They checked fluids and noticed the power steering fluid was a little low and that might be the problem. VERY frustrated because if it makes the noise again I have to leave it overnight when it's cold. Has anyone had a similar problem??
