Any update, cause my stupid SRT8 started smoking again, dealer says they have to open the engine head to see what is going on inside and I don't want to do that unless I get the exact answer for this problem.

If you are referring to smoke at startup, check post #157 in the "Major Smoke Out of Exhaust" thread.

Re: White smoke sometimes on start? 5.7

Hiii guys.... it seems everyone is having the same problem.. I have this problem since I bought my 5.7 grand 2012. I went many times to the dealer and it seems they donít know the problem. This smoke does not come only when you start the car, you can drive the car for 1h then park it in a slight incline with the front up wait for 10m and push into the gas... you will see a big cloud coming from ur pipes.
After showing them the problem they said we will change the pcv valve, after they finish the work I took them for a test drive and when we came back the problem was still there. They were about to cry coz I proved them that they donít know what they are doing. A super technician is coming to my country from factory to see the car on Monday and I hope he can come up with a good answer.
Btw I saw a guy in YouTube with the same problem.. see the link below.
I will keep you updated if I find a good answer.

Ok so I'm long overdue to update this thread from my original post. The 2 fixes are tested and confirmed. Depending on your specific smoking conditions you have 2 possible solutions.

1. Updated PCV - The newer version has more hard plastic instead of the softer rubber(about an inch). In some scenerios the soft rubber was getting hot and collapsing on itself causing positive pressure resulting in blow by.

2. For those of you smoking on startup and on inclines more than likely you will need the updated windage tray. Good news is its going into production... bad news is its not available yet.

It would take me a decade to type out the exact issue, but the short answer is the windage tray angle had to be increased to provide better drainage from the rear of the engine. The good news is that other than some smoking this doesn't cause any problems or damage to the engine or exhaust system. Though, I know its annoying, try to stay patient the solution is inbound.

Re: White smoke sometimes on start? 5.7

I've removed the PCV hose and blocked the throttle body pipe, no smoke appear from the exhaust, I tried several time to see any smoke coming from it but nothing, so this is it, PCV been changed for the 3rd time but the problem still there, so if we used a Catch Can maybe will resolve this problem, I realized that something wrong with the PCV because in every PCV change the smoke disappear but after short time the smoke comes back.

I have a catch can and have had the PCV valve replaced twice. The catch can still collects oil and it still smokes on start up. I have a 2012 Overland w/ hemi. I'm waiting for the oil pan fix now.

Re: White smoke sometimes on start? 5.7

I noticed I am now part of the group also. Today as I we walked to it and I started it remotely, I was horrified to see my $59K Jeep smokes the blues. What is even more upsetting is thinking that I will need to have the garage monkeys at the dealership open up my motor (if they get a fix) and I can only imagine what they will ruin while fixing this problem.

My '13 with 4,500 miles has done it since Day 1. The dealer is gonna look at it next week when it goes in for an oil change.

So what happened? Was the problem ever fixed? I am having the same problem on a 2013 JGC Trailhawk I just bought. First appeared last night while idling parked facing up hill in the driveway....#&$^%@!!
