I have already searched the forum and am aware of a few. Hopefully this thread can serve as a decent summary spot for those searching. The link for my issue regarding a noise coming from the passenger side rear suspension is below for those that are curious. I'm hoping I don't have to down the route of a buy back / Lemon Law but I think the issue our JGC is having could be a safety issue. I'm one who likes to be prepared if I do need to go down this route.

2011 Overland bought back/replaced by Chrysler. Took a very long time for them to agree but when they finally did it was relatively easy and I would even dare say they were cooperative and helpful and in the end gave me more than I asked for .
I believe Chrysler customer service is designed to stall you as long as possible. In retrospect I should have been more aggressive. I had several legitimate issues including two that compromised safety. My new 2012 has been flawless so far but im only 1000 miles in. I had water marks inside the windshield that would not come off. In the manufacturing process the windshild was etched from some type of water or chemical.
Im sitting at 17 days of my truck being up at jeep for service and I only owned for 12 hours. If I can go with the Lemon Law I will. I just don't know where to start.
I was used and only had 4k miles. The headlights don't work. The HIDs glow but do not produce enough light to light the road. I left the dealership at 9pm and it was not totally dark in located in a city lit area... once I got on the highway to start my 2 hour drive home I realized I was only getting light from my fog lights. Took it to the dealer at 9am the next morning and it has been there ever since.
Chrysler will go by the lemon law in your state for a buyback. You have a used vehicle so the rules are not going to be the same as a new vehicle. One thing about used cars is there is always a reason its on the used car lot. Not to mean its always becasue it had problems but theres always a reason and sometimes its becasue it was trouble. Has it been at the dealer all this time just waiting for a part?
So its really not a used vehicle its a demo? If that the case than everything should apply as if it was new. I can tell you from my experience that the buyback process if it goes that way is long. The person with the most power that you are able to talk to is the service manager. You can call chrysler and talk to customer service and they will give you a case number and then if the problem goes on they will give it to a case manager. The thing you need to remember is those people in customer service don't have any power to do anything. They are just there to listen to your complaint. Its really the district service manager that would decide if its a buyback and they work out of a local business office. They deal directly with the dealer and its not someone that you will talk to unless it comes to a buyback. You need to look up the lemon law in your state and this is what chrysler will follow. Hopefully you won't have to go that way and they can get it resolved and you can move on with no more problems.
Yeah, pretty much. Sounds easy enough to fix right? Nope. They had ordered a new power modular and that didn't work, checked the wiring, that didn't work, now are ordering new headlight units to see if that works. As simple as it seems, its not and the jeep can't be driven since it is a safety hazard.
Yeah I hope so. I was already assigned a case number and a case manager the first day I dropped it off. I had to report it right away since it was a safety issue and the jeep is listed as VOR (vehicle off road) so it is the highest priority of the 3 Tiers. To be honest I have not complained or raised hell once to the dealership or Chrysler. It's better to be nice then make enemies in these situations. It will be in my benifet in the long run. They really are doing everything in their power at the fastest rate then can with the parts that are available.
NC Lemon Law says if it is not fixed in 20 business days then it qualifies. So I would fall under that stipulation in about a week.
