Hello everyone. Haven't been on the forums for a while. I have a 2012 limited. I have yet to hear the issue and I have driven the jeep multiple times since my wife first described the noise.
She describes it as a scraping noise("like the muffler fell off or something") coming from the front passenger side wheel she thinks. Then it goes away. This happened a few weeks ago. I drove it many times since and the jeep drives as smooth as the day we got it with zero sounds or noises. Today, she experienced the noise again of course without me in the jeep to try to figure out what the issue would be.
The jeep has about 60k miles. I have a dedicated winter wheel and tire set up on it currently but have never had any noises with those wheels/tires before in the past 2 years using them.
She also(one time) experienced her dash lighting up like a Christmas tree with "SERV 4WD" "ABS light" "traction control light" . Those lights never came on again after she got to her destination and turned the jeep back on to leave.
I first thought it was the wheel bearing when she told me about it the first time but would the sound come and go if that was the case? Same with brakes, wouldn't the warning "scrape" stick around if the pads were worn?
I'm thinking we will need to trade cars for a while to see if I can experience it and try to pinpoint the issue...
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jon
