Wind Noise

I am noticing in my 2014 Overland that there is A LOT of wind noise. More than my 2012 Limited. Anyone else have noticeable wind noise?

Re: Wind Noise

One of the things that impressed me from the start about my Jeep is how quiet the cabin stays, even on windy days. It was one of the sore points with my MDX.

Re: Wind Noise

Hmm, maybe I have a bad seal somewhere. Occasionally get a whistle sound like a window is slightly cracked, but can't isolate where it's coming from.

Re: Wind Noise

Have heard somewhere that a few have had some door seal problems. You could take a look at all your door seals and see if any are out of place.

Re: Wind Noise

It;s so bad you can hear the tires of the car in front of you rolling on the pavement.

Re: Wind Noise

My Overland is very quiet. I'd take it to the dealer and take the service manager for a ride. After that, take one off the lot to compare.

Re: Wind Noise

I just remembered. Quite a few '14s had weather striping around the door windows that was curled in. On two or three of mine I had to lower the windows and guide the w/s with my fingers as I raised the windows. It was a one time thing, so it might be worth looking at.

Re: Wind Noise

Is y'alls sunroof sealing flat and level when closed? [presuming so equipped]
Any uneven points where the windshield seals against the body?
Door rubbers all seated with no dings, etc?
Stupid fuel flap seating [surprisingly noisy if you leave it unlatched] properly?
Smooth transition from the roof to that rear excuse for a spoiler?

About the only wind noise I notice is from the rather large mirrors, and none of the noise is whistly in nature.

Re: Wind Noise

Found the curled in seal you were talking about, but it was just one tiny part on a back window, doesn't seem like that little piece curled in (less than an inch) would cause that much road noise.
