Wind noise with Thule and Yakima Ski Racks

I have a 2011 GC Overland with Factory installed cross bars. The bars are pretty quiet until I put ski racks on. I have tried Yakima Powderhound and the Thule racks recommended on the Mopar site. Both sets of racks whistle terribly above 15Mph. I have positioned the racks in various spots on the roof and still cannot get the whistling to stop. Has anyone else had this issue? I called the dealership today and they stated that there was no fix for this. I said that doesn't make sense, you should be able to put Ski Racks on an SUV. I have had (2) CG's 05 and 08 and never had this issue with wind noise while using ski racks. I need to have the racks so I'm about ready to head to RackAttack and get a new setup with a fairing. Figured I would reach out to see if anyone else has had this problem. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

A new setup might be the answer, however you shouldn't have to go all out and do rackattack, thule sells cross bars now and a member has installed the thule fairing as well!

Thanks. Found out the issue. When they put the factory bars on, they forgot to put the rubber grommets back on. I went to the dealership and they gave me the grommets and now I just have a very faint whistle. I'm going to try to move the racks around a little to see if I can get rid of it.

I purchased the Mopar cross-bars and used my old Thule 724 ski racks this past winter. I couldn't wait until the Thule fit kit came out. I have no noise with the bars but with the 724 on I get a vibration in the roof that just sounds like a big bass thump at higher speeds. I found with the skis on the car I didn't get this. Must be something with the air flow and perhaps the rigidity of the new roof (had these on a 2000 and 2002 JGC previously with no issue). I do have an old fairing from when it was on an Accord. Next season I may see if I can get that somehow attached to the factory cross-bars.

I recently installed mopar cross bars and used my old yakima powder hounds! They whistle bad, i have been using masking tape to seal up seams and holes on the roof to noise check, to no avail. any thoughts? put in the rubber strip the cross bars came with. is this body design just unfriendly to ski racks? previous setup worked great on my wrx.
