Windshield replaced, wipers acting up....help

So my dealer says that it was recalibrated but I'm thinking that's the issue and I'm going to go back and get them to re-do it.

I got my windshield replaced yesterday (sigh....yes, already) and now everytime I turn the vehicle on when I get it, or even on acc the wipers swipe once. They are sensing rain still, but it's annoying when it wasn't doing this 2 days ago!

I've played with the evic by setting them to off and then turning them back on....still no luck. Any other tips?

Thx!

Question- Have you turned off the wipers and noticed if it still does it? For example knob and/or evic is set to off..

Re: Windshield replaced, wipers acting up....help

you have to either have the rainsense recalibrated or they installed the wrong windshield for rainsense

Re: Windshield replaced, wipers acting up....help

The rain sense feature relies on the index of refraction and internal reflection properties of the original OEM windshield. If the replacement wasn't the same, it may never recalibrate correctly.

Re: Windshield replaced, wipers acting up....help

It only does it when the evic is set to auto rain setting. It is an oem replacement done at the dealership. I'm thinking it's just a gremlin glitch that re-recalibration will fix. Thx guys!!

I am having the same problem now. I had mine replaced by Safelite with a PGW windshield and now I keep having this problem. Also having a problem with the auto-dimming feature on my rearview mirror. Did having it re-calibrated improve the problem?

Ciara,

I ended up resetting everything on the evic by playing with the option on the evic to normal and turning the dial to off and then shutting the jeep off, then I turned it back on and then opted for rain sense on the evic and then turned to sensitivity dial back to what it was and all seems okey dokey now.....so wierd tho!
