I am now thinking it might be the intermediate shaft. There is a tsb for this with an updated shaft.
I just had the Intermediate Shaft (IMS) replaced today with the updated version.

It is the cure to the shimmy and the feedback from the steering when braking.

I had a similar issue and the intermediate shaft also resolved it.

Re: WK2 5.7L Hemi with smoke and vibrationů

here in US we have lemon laws. they vary by state but all have some sort of protection atgainst repeated or long time failure on a new vehicle.

do you have any laws like that up there?

I would also work the phone/emails and get the factory rep invlved. here they have regional reps that have a handful of dealers under them. USUALLY if you can get wioth them you can get some TRUE answers as to the problems and the potential solutions.

Yes I did. I suspect its gonna be a problem on most. I'm going to request the intermediate shaft fix.

Re: WK2 5.7L Hemi with smoke and vibrationů

Have them keep it at the shop and do not take it home until it is fixed. There's like 4 visits or 30 consectuive days (or some-such) before it can be lemon-lawed. Contact an attorney who specializes in these matters soon. Don't sell it, you will have to disclose the problem and take a HUUUUGE beating financially. Put this one back on Jeep.

2011 Overland Hemi with air suspension and 20" wheels
Dealer cant solve vibration problem, said it was tires, replaced the cheesy 20" Forteras, ride is much better, but vibration (shuddering between 70 and 85 mph) id still there. I noticed a wobble from the vibration damper of the rear shaft while on a lift with the wheels turning. Somewhere in this old thread someone mentioned a TSB for a vibration. I did not find one.

Any help with this will be great !
