wk2 grand cherokee 2012 throttle fault limp mode

Hi fellas..
New to this.. so bare with me..
Just bought a 2012 wk2 crd Grand Cherokee limited. Had it for 3 Weeks now and yesterday the throttle light came on the the car went into limp mode. I sit out down and then restarted. Seemed OK. But engine malfunction light is now on. Any ideas what it is ?
Cheers

Re: wk2 grand cherokee 2012 throttle fault limo mode

My CRD 2014 has had the throttle body service light come on twice. First time at 3000k. The dealer said a hose had come off side of the throttle body bec not on correctly .
At 6000 k this week the red throttle body light flashed again and the warning " Exhaust filter blocked please drive at highway speeds to remedy" came up and the engine light and Limp mode set in.
I drove at 40 k into town 30 k away. The dealer said exhaust was blocked. I said "I dont think so after only 6000 and lots of highway miles, the computer is wrong" They said "thats what the computer says so we are doing a diesel burn".... which is when they use your diesel to run the car at higher revs for 45 mins...
After that sequence the dealer said." that did not fix problem (!!) and seems an exhaust temp sensor is faulty and sending wrong signal etc" No shit I said.
Now they have the car for a few more days to find the part somewhere in Australia and replace it and reset it etc. They will do latest recalls at same time.
Today I bought a personalised reg plate for the poor jeep " Recall" ... says it all really ...again...

Re: wk2 grand cherokee 2012 throttle fault limo mode

well just an update..
my jeep has now been in the workshop for over 6 weeks. they have replaced egr valve, pcu module, throttle body, have pulled the intake mainfold and exhaust system for a clean, and various other parts with no success. i only got to drive my car for 3 weeks, and over 6 weeks in the workshop, when is enough, enough? so now im chasing the path of getting my money back and returning this jeep.. never to purchase one again. unfortunate because they tick all the boxes except reliability and service support ... absolutely disappointment.. lets hope santas jeep runs a bit better,, haha..

You don't happen to left foot brake do you or whatever the American equivalent is !! That is brake with your other foot, definitely don't like feet on the brake and accelerator at the same time.

Re: wk2 grand cherokee 2012 throttle fault limo mode

mine has been okay for the last 2000k ie 3 weeks. the dealer changed the exhaust temp sensor and that apparently reset the throttle body warning. i am not 100% confident they tell me the whole truth about the fixes. they said they did a diesel burn to trick the computer to think the blocked exhaust was burnt out. this means they used my diesel on a high idle for 45 minutes to run a temp range through the exhaust .....new plates on the car now.....

Re: wk2 grand cherokee 2012 throttle fault limp mode

GC stopped again this week at 8900k and was towed to dealer. Usual throttle body light engine light and warning about exhaust systembeing blocked. Chrysler called to say getting exhaust temp sensor part from USA and should get car back by Xmas...
