Sprieto, I would get it into your dealer. It's most likely an issue with your blend doors, or the actuator that controls them. From what I read, they have to take your dash apart to fix it and it's no small job. Lucky that you're still under warranty, unfortunately I'm not. I wouldn't wait, you don't want to cross the 3-year warranty period.

Thumbs up Re: WK2 heater blowing cold on driver's side

BEFORE YOU TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AND GET CHARGED FOR TAKING THE DASH APART ($2 vs $1,000+)...

So my update is that I found a thread on Jeep Forum (http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f309/no-heat-passenger-side-blend-door-gears-2181505/) that addresses this and my mechanic buddy came over and we were able to fix the blend door issue, in about an hour, without taking the dash apart. Mine was an issue on the passenger side. The glove box came out (some challenges) and then a couple of the vent tubes (those were easy). It turns out that, like in that Jeep Forum thread, the gear for the actuator had broken (I got it at the dealer for $2). The only hiccup we had was that there was another actuator and door for the fresh air vent that we first mistook for the culprit, only to find the correct blend door actuator further left.

Re: WK2 heater blowing cold on driver's side

Thanks you I'm actually looking in to fixing this now but I kept doubting taking it to the dealer it's too overpriced
Mines the driver seat do you think I'm able to go around without having to remove the dash by any chance?

Re: WK2 heater blowing cold on driver's side

I assume you mean driver's "side" and honestly I don't know since I haven't dug under there yet to see what obstacles might lie in the way. However, if it were me I'd spend an hour trying versus automatically bringing it to the dealer to pay the big $.

Keep in mind that my broken part was cheap and easy. I knew it was that gear because I found pieces of it on the floor and matched it up the picture in the Jeep Forum thread. Yours could be a couple of other things that are tougher to replace.

At the very least do more internet searches on forums to see if you can find anyone else that has dug around up there.

Re: WK2 heater blowing cold on driver's side

My driver's side activator motor had a broken gear inside the little housing. I replaced it with a new Dorman but it won't work on the Jeep.
I removed it, tested it on 6 volts DC and it works just fine, the Jeep won't operate it.
Is there a procedure to kick it off?
Could this be another TIPM issue?

Re: WK2 heater blowing cold on driver's side

Disconnected the neg. battery post, installed the new actuator, reconnected the battery, turned the keyswitch On.
The actuator hummed a coupla seconds then started popping like the gears were in a bind and stripping, then it would stop, then it started popping again.
I turned it Off and disconnected the negative battery post.
I took the actuator off the airbox, then reconnected the battery post, turned the keyswitch On and the actuator started turning it's little output shaft counter clockwise only for the series of stops and starts.
I believe the TPM is trying to eat my drivers side actuators.
I hope it doesn't try to eat the transmission or fuel injection.

Re: WK2 heater blowing cold on driver's side

Talked to the Tech at the local dealer today.
Seems that the blend door activator is controlled by the Heater Control Module, not the TIPM.
They're ordering a new Mopar actuator then will determine what's going on.
Will update the results in a few days.

Re: WK2 heater blowing cold on driver's side

The tech at the dealer reset/reprogrammed/??? mine after installing a new actuator and it's working fine now.
Cost $94.00
The job is good for 1 year warranty.
He doesn't know what caused it.

Re: WK2 heater blowing cold on driver's side

Hey guys, I have a 2011 wk2 that is doing the same thing. I assume it is an issue with one of the blend door motors or the door itself. My question is have any of you come up with a place to get a good service manual? I do not want to pay tons of money to the dealer to get something done that I could do myself, but I would really like to have a manual with me when I start. Thanks.
Also, I understand that there are 6 of these things buried in the dash. Is there anyone out there that could tell me how to tell which one is busted?

Re: WK2 heater blowing cold on driver's side

Just happened to my 2012 Summit as well Blowing hot air on drivers side and cold on passenger side. When it's 6 degrees outside that passenger can get pretty cranky

Did you remove any trim besides the glove box?
I'm in it now and I am trying to decided if I should remove more
