Wk2 p0302 cylinder misfire

All, I am new to this forum and this is my first post, but I wanted to share some information on my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo X 4x4. I bought this vehicle a little over a year ago and as a first time Jeep owner have been very pleased. Then about three weeks ago the check engine light came on. I drove by my local parts store and had them run the diagnostic computer on it and it showed a code of "P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire." At the time my vehicle had approximately 16,500 miles. I took it to the dealer, they reset the computer and broadened the trigger points that would trip the check engine light and sent me on my way. Two weeks and 300 miles later, the light has come on again and has given me the same code.

I called my dealer this morning and requested that they order the new head and any other parts necessary to repair it before I bring it in so that I can continue to drive the vehicle until the parts come in. They agreed to do this. The parts will be in on Monday and I will drop the vehicle off for repairs then. They are estimating that the repairs will take about two days.

I will keep you posted on any updates.

That sounds pretty crappy, Scott. I hope that this issue is easily resolved with this repair. I have been very happy with my first Jeep and I would hate for a reoccuring issue to sour that.

Re: Wk2 p0302 cylinder misfire

The problem is Chrysler will not completely come out publicly and acknowledge that there is a problem with the heads on the pentastar v6 nor are they going to issue a recall, god forbid the image of their new motor is tainted, meanwhile thousands of owners have to go thru hell just to get their new car fixed which shouldn't have this problem in the first place. I Got rid of my wk2 Laredo V6 because of the head issue and because nobody would fix it. I'm now driving a wk2 limited with the hemi and it purrs like a kitten.
