Re: WK2 -question- Remote Start

It's an option in the EVIC:

Remote Start Comfort Sys.
When this feature is selected and the remote start is
activated, the heated steering wheel and driver heated
seat features will automatically turn on in cold weather.
In warm weather, the driver vented seat feature will
automatically turn on when the remote start is activated.
These features will stay on through the duration of
remote start or until the key is turned to RUN. To make
your selection, press and release the SELECT button until
a check-mark appears next to the feature showing the
system has been activated or the check-mark is removed,
showing the system has been deactivated.

does it define cold/warm weather? (actual temperature thresholds?)

Re: WK2 -question- Remote Start

There's no option in the EVIC to change the thresholds. When the temperature is
below 40 degrees the heated seat and steering wheel come on when you remote start
the vehicle. I don't recall if the A/C and ventilated seat come on when the temperature
is above 80 or 90.

Lame. I would like heated seats to turn on at 50.

Re: WK2 -question- Remote Start

Furthermore the truck will turn itself off.... I remote started mine last night saw the lights come on and heard it start .... then I spoke to my parents for a few more minutes and the darn thing shut off. Not cool.

It'll shut off after 15 or 20 minutes, can't remember which.

Re: WK2 -question- Remote Start

It will also shutoff if the fuel is below a certain point.

From OM

If an engine fault is present or fuel level is low, the vehicle will start and then shutdown in 10 seconds.
The park lamps will turn on and remain on during Remote Start mode.
For security, power window and power sunroof op- eration (if equipped) are disabled when the vehicle is in the Remote Start mode.
The engine can be started two consecutive times with the RKE transmitter. However, the ignition must be cycled by pushing the START/STOP button twice (or the ignition switch must be cycled to the ON/RUN position) before you can repeat the start sequence for a third cycle.

I beleive it will run for 15 minutes unless the fuel level drops too low.

That way, it won't continue to run forever if you either forget you started it or you somehow accidentally press the autostart button sequence.

VERY COOL.

Re: WK2 -question- Remote Start

I could see 30 minutes.... but 15 is cutting it too close.
