Re: Wk2 Rear Knocking Noise Aussie GC Laredo

New shocks fitted this morning. Have just driven 150k home over all sort of surfaces and I couldn't notice any noise at all. Absolute bliss. I should point out however that the weather was fairly wet on the trip and sometimes that will deaden noises but I am confident that, at least at this point in time, the problem has finally been solved. For those who may be interested, the part number for the shocks fitted was CH68069680AD.

I cross my fingers for you it stays that way. I have the same shocks put into mine and the noise came back after 2000 miles. :-(

Hey My friend:
I had those installed over 6 month ago and the noise came back at less then 750 Miles.
I hope yours don't fail the same way mine did. Which I am still waiting for a new shock with code ending in AF that are in back order.

For new part number ending in AF.
My service advisor wants to change my shock again, too. Told him that there is a new version (AF) but on Backorder. He looked into it and said that the Chrysler Part System only shows the AD version, nothing about an AF version at all.

I am confused, could somebody with access to the parts system have a look if version AF is there and when it comes available. I am going on deployment in a month and I would like to have it done before that so my wife doesn't have to deal with it.

Edit:
Just found a parts dealer in the Internet who offered the AE version. It's a Dodge parts dealer by the way. No sign of any AF version in the web.

Fully agree, I guess we all want that. So while sharing the pain, let us share the knowledge ;-) to help the poor dealers with their lack of knowledge (heck, mine didn't know how to retrieve the MyGig security code, had to give him the TSB for that, go figure?!)

Kindly ask to let your dealer double-check (maybe he is calming you down only?) and members who have access to the Chrysler part system. Thanks to all!

No, the number is 68069680.
Current version out is 68069680AD (at least what people got). I found 68069680AE and nonopr01 received the information that 68069680AF is coming.

Kind a, AF doesn't exist. AE is what I found in the Internet. Dealer says AD is the last version.
I contacted Milous to find out more, but seems he is very busy.

Mine is in the shop, too. Cylinder head, teared headliner (windscreen change) and .... 5th time for the shocks. Haven't heard what shocks but honestly don't care; I will go in the shop every time the noise comes back until they fix it.
