WK2 tranny

Anyone could explain such effect that every time when dealer applying some tranny's related software update it is good for about month after and than back to jerks/bangs etc? Why it can't be permanent fix? It happened twice already for mine 2011/Wk2 with 24K miles.

Re: WK2 tranny

When my vehicle was new I thought it was slow, especially off the line. I have the 5.7L V8. Then I drove it for several miles and it got MUCH better. Same thing with a computer update at the dealer. Bogged down right after that. Then I drove it a little while and it responds like it should.

Re: WK2 tranny

I wouldn't be surprised if the tranny "memory" that Scott alluded to was reset each time the updates were applied and that's what's going on.

There's a reset procedure you can follow that's easy that I don't remember off the top of my head, you should be able to find it by searching. You might want to do that and see if it stops jerking/banging again.
