Would a TSB fix this...

So my father in-law and I both have 2011 GC Laredo X Hemi's. The only difference is color and he has chrome accents.

My issue is his Jeep is quicker...seriously. I was just out visiting them this past weekend and got the chance to drive his a couple of times ( I had to leave mine with the wife because of the car seats in ours). His has faster throttle response and in the "seat of your pants" test it absolutely feels quicker. I broke the cardinal rule and mentioned it to him. Now he has a club to bust my balls whenever he wants. Realize that my toy car is a 500 hp mustang, so I know what power feels like.

I have seen guys on here talk about TSB's for performance issues. Do you think there might be one to cover this. My father in-law bought his in early December, I got mine the beginning of January.

Thanks,
Jim

If you are referring to TSB 18-012-11 Rev.A then no, this one only applies to WK2 with V6

Re: Would a TSB fix this...

The ESC TSB applies to both engines and was released in early January. There may be a slim chance that it was applied only to the later Hemi. Unsure if it can explain the difference you noted.

Has his been back for service and yours hasn't? Sounds like his has the TSB applied and yours doesn't.

I would take yours in and simply tell them the truth, that your father-in-laws WK2 is quicker then yours and you want yours checked to see if this TSB applies.

Does he use 89 octane while you use 87?

Re: Would a TSB fix this...

We both run 87 octane. He has only had his back for oil changes, no service issues. I admit I don't drive aggressively, but i don't think he does either. I'll take it back to the dealer and see what they say.

Thanks,
Jim

Re: Would a TSB fix this...

UPDATE: I took the Jeep to the dealer and had to talk them into servicing it. I had printed out the TSB 18-001-11, they said that didn't apply to mine, but did install a new flash program. The invoice doesn't state what flash it was. It's been raining here for a couple days so I haven't really been able to see a difference. I guess the real test will be when I can drive my father in-laws back to back with mine to see any difference.

Jim
