I was waiting for someone to state that. You are correct Mopar is the parts division of Chrysler and the Service Contracts are considered a part by Chrysler. My dealer threw in the 4 oil change package to close the deal for my Cherokee Limited II. I was looking all over for it and found it in my Mopar Owner Connect account along with my other Service Contracts.

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

Ziegler is 100% good. I purchased it a day after buying my 14 Summit in Houston. Ziegler was the best price. The following week I brought the car in for radio service and the service advisor said, oh. you have Lifetime, you get a loaner car. When you make the purchase it flows through the computers and it attaches to your VIN. These vehicles have bugs in them ( radio/usb, Transmission, HVAC )and nothing beats "insurance" to protect your wallet.

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

I bought my plan yesterday around noon from Zeigler, its showing on Owner Connect today. :-)

I'd recommend calling Bob before purchase and asking for the code to get the old pricing. Worth +$100.

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

My dealer told me that the "lifetime" isn't available on the diesel. Does anyone know if that is true? I got the 6 year, 70,000 mile warranty.

I don't normally praise stealership personnel but in the case of Bob Cline and his assistant I can report that they do exactly what they say. There are a few others around selling discount Mopar Service Contracts but I think it is worth dealing with Bob even if he is a few dollars more. In most cases he is not. Bob has proven that his word is good.

LOL, a first. A stealership actually told you the truth on no lifetime Service Contract for the diesel.

Yes, that's true. There are some "long term" options, however, if you ask, for 7 (and I think 8) years and (again, I think) as much as 120K miles. They may not be displayed on the web site, so a call might be required.

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

I bought the Maxcare lifetime, but they should make it transferable like the shorter plans... up to the year/mileage of the longest finite plan. It would only be fair and help resale should my plans to keep it change.

I realize they can't make a lifetime plan transferable forever.

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

I think there likely is a good business reason they didn't make the lifetime service contract transferable. (except in the states where that's required) The non-lifetime service contracts still have a defined "end date" when transferred; the lifetime contract could conceivably be stretched out far longer with multiple owners than it statistically likely would be with a single owner.

Even though I bought the lifetime contract for my MY12, I did so to get rid of the mileage limitations because I'm piling them on due to business travel. (I enjoy driving rather than taking other transportation modalities as long as it's reasonably practical time-wise) But I'll still only hold the car 5-6 years in all probability. For the folks that keep their vehicles "very long term", even the lifetime contract has a limit for what constitutes "lifetime"...

Thumbs down Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

Just an FYI if you live in Florida or one of the other states (NC I think) that by law make the lifetime transferable, be sure Zeigler sets up the contract right so it is transferable.. To be blunt, they screwed up mine (I live in Florida, bought my 2011 in Florida, etc.) and it didn't have the transferability clause in my contract...and it should have. There is NOTHING Chrysler would do and so I cancelled it....it cost me like $300 or so. It was Zeigler/Chrysler screw up...and they were not forthcoming about the error. Wasn't worth the fight...learned my lesson. But they should have just corrected my contract. Booo. Oh, and by the way, Zeigler and Chrysler both new I was a Florida residence and bought my 2011 from a Florida dealership. They should have done the right thing, but didn't.

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

Why do I think there are some pieces missing from that story? I guess it is just the retired middle school teacher in me having heard so many "stories" from students. Forgive me for being skeptical but it is in my nature. And losing $300 for what? Maybe (?) you couldn't transfer it but it still had value to you that you could use. Why take a loss on it just to prove your point to yourself? Your address/residence both at the time you took out the contract and currently would be very easy to prove in several ways.

*** I just looked at my Mopar Lifetime Maximum Wrap Service Contract. There is nothing Ziegler or Chrysler would have to fill out. Only things for you to fill out proving Florida residency which would automatically make it transferable. You are talking about filling out answers on a form on a computer website. Only the USER of the website could screw that up. Other things to check out: What state is your Jeep titled/registered in? Could it be your VIN shows up as registered in another state? Do you summer/winter in another state by any chance?
