Why take a loss on it just to prove your point to yourself? Your address/residence both at the time you took out the contract and currently would be very easy to prove in several ways.

*** I just looked at my Mopar Lifetime Maximum Wrap Service Contract. There is nothing Ziegler or Chrysler would have to fill out. Only things for you to fill out proving Florida residency which would automatically make it transferable. You are talking about filling out answers on a form on a computer website. Only the USER of the website could screw that up. Other things to check out: What state is your Jeep titled/registered in? Could it be your VIN shows up as registered in another state? Do you summer/winter in another state by any chance?
Not sure if I should take offense at your post or not. But I am "the glass is half full" type of guy so will assume you didn't mean to be insulting.

I filled out the website and information 100% correctly. Trust me, I do tons of things online. I live all year in Florida. Not a second home, not a snow bird...nor old by any means. I am also very computer literate...and also have a bachelor, master and JD from top 20 university...all with highest honors. If you knew me, you would have never made such an innuendo and I am also, to a fault, honest.

I got the value out of it by canceling it getting a prorated refund while it was still under 36 months and under 36,000....that is, still under factory warranty.

They screwed up plain and simple. Zeigler was evasive at first then admitted it was their error..."it happens sometime". Chrysler took no responsibility and the people at the 800 number were...shall we say....not knowledgable and certainly not empowered. Could I have pressed the issue and made Ziegler eat it....sure, I suppose, but just wasn't worth the hassle. Hence my warning to others to make sure...perhaps CALL THEM...instead of relying on their website to process things correctly. Perhaps they have changed their website in response to my issue...it was 3 years ago that I bought it.

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

I meant no offense. I just felt that if they were at fault you gave in a little too easily. I am a fighter and if I felt I was right I would have fought tooth and nail. I have this little guy standing up to the evil empire/business complex. I do know that some things have changed at Zeigler. I am not sure when Bob Cline took over the online Service Contract part of the business but it might have been about 3 years ago. Everything I know about Bob is that he is a straight shooter. It is possible that since Fiat took over Chrysler the contract wording may even have changed. I really don't see anything for Chrysler or Zeigler to fill out beforehand in the contract now unless you were actually in the process of transferring the Service Contract.

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

Yes, he was the one involved. They screwed up. I have the emails on the matter. It has nothing to do with Fiat. Someone at Zeigler didn't do it right, process it right or whatever it is they do or their website does. My post wasn't to disparage them or the guy (he is very nice person, but they screwed up and didn't jump up and down offering to fix it)...but to warn people to make sure theirs wasn't messed up like mine was. The screw up was uncovered when I looked into having my contract transferred...I wanted to make sure my listing to sell my 2011 was 100000% correct and wanted to know the exact procedure to do the transfer when I sold. Upon inquiry I was surprised that Chrysler was saying it wasn't transferable. I had the printout from the Zeigler site, the Chrysler brochure, all from three years ago...yes, I kept all of those records. I explained I reside in Florida ... continuously ... from when I bought the 2011, bought the contract ... bought my 2011 from a Florida dealer....my mailing address had always been Florida since then ... on and on and on. All to no avail.

Should Zeigler have pulled all the stops and fixed it? Yes. Did they? No. I threw up my hands and just said convert it to a 7 year plan ... easier route and no controversy over transferability. Then, I got a bit peeved and just had it canceled. A bit poorer, lesson learned. Could I have won...in court or whatever...yes. Am I gonna go ape sh*t over it? No. Zeigler sells out of Michigan...they must have by default got a MI contract issued. I got a long discussion on the phone about it from them....blah, blah, blah. Whatever. The bottom line, it was their screw up, not mine. Did it get fixed, no. I was told that mine wasn't the first one screwed up like this but that lifetime contracts from one of the transferable states is rare anyway. I am glad I caught it BEFORE selling my 2011 and finding out at the time of sale that it wasn't transferable when I told them it was...now that would have been not good. Did I mention that the guy who bought my 2011 didn't even test drive it...perhaps he knew after meeting me that I was a straight shooter and deal with people in a fair and honest way.

Should this dissuade people from buying from Zeigler online? No. But if you are looking to get a LIFETIME contract AND live in one of the transferable states with plans to transfer the contract someday...CALL them directly.

Did I ever post a hate filled diatribe on the matter...no. The issue was brought up though in another thread where I expressed some concerns about it.

I was trying to say they could give the lifetime a transferable end date like the non-lifetime warranties so as not to penalize buyers of the lifetime.

For example, I sell my car at 5yrs or 50,000 miles, the buyer would still have 2yrs or 20,000 left on the warranty. After all we did pay more for a lifetime.

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

I got a code from Bob today but the code only gives me $50 off instead of $100+.. is the bigger discount not available any more?

I'd recommend calling Bob before purchase and asking for the code to get the old pricing. Worth +$100.

Laughs, this is sort of a game that is played. When I asked Bob Cline for a code he gave me the $50 one too. I told him that is not the one I wanted. I wanted the code the people were talking about on Jeep Garage that set the prices back to before the price increase. He then gave me that code. Best I can figure out is you only get the price set back code if you specifically ask for it. It is worth playing the game though as using the price set back code saved me $700 from what my dealer was asking for the same Mopar Lifetime Maximum Care Wrap $100 deductible Service Contract. BTW, Check your PM. I sent you something.

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

Yes, since the extended service contract is tied to your VIN, it's easy for them to make it appear in your service and owner's records quickly!

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

Hey All,

I've got a 2014 Overland with 9k miles and am approaching 12 months in August. I'm going to purchase the maxcare unlimited lifetime contract but have concerns because of the K&N intake and filter I installed. The contract reads:

THE PLAN WILL NOT COVER, OR APPLY TO LOSS OR EXPENSE RESULTING FROM:... (i) modifications not approved or recommended by the manufacturer;... Repairs to a covered component caused by the failure of a non-covered component and/or an aftermarket installation not performed by an Authorized Chrysler Dealer

Does anyone with the maxcare lifetime contract have aftermarket parts, have you had any issues with a claim?

Any input is appreciated!
