Re: 0-60 times JGC V6 & V8

Can't speak for Jeep, but I know that any "unlocking" of the ECU for any reason altering the stock tune voids the warranty with GM on my Z06 and CTS-V. In fact, some have done this and had problems thinking they could flash the ECU back to stock and take it to the dealer, but once the dealer's tech tool detected that the ECU was unlocked, it was a done deal.

Canned tunes like the DiabloSport may not be as much of a red flag, but I would sure check with the dealer beforehand.

Re: 0-60 times JGC V6 & V8

I rented a WKII V6 and was surprised how unresponsive it was. One other point worth considering is that with a few easy to install upgrades, the Hemi becomes a whole different beast.. significantly faster, smoother, and quieter. Stock, my Hemi was a total dog. Ported TB, Apexi, catch can and CMR tune really do the trick.... 0-60 5.4 and gobs of low end torque.... and don't waste $ on exhaust and intake mods..did that and got rid of them, as they do nothing but make noise.

I have a 14 V6 and averaged 24.8 mpg on a 600 mile drive last week. Gas prices are heading back up to the 3.75 range this summer. I'm good with the 1-2 sec slower to 60. Plus the v6 stops a lot quicker than the V8. Sport mode gets me past anything on the highway... Happy trails!

Re: 0-60 times JGC V6 & V8

I just traded in my 2011 limited with the Hemi for a 2014 Overland with the V6 and I must say I have been pleasently surprised by the V6. The main difference that I can tell is the difference in the tourque between the two engines. But that is to be expected as the Hemi had 390 lbft and the V6 has 260.

The part of the manual that talks about the breakin period says to do short periods of full throttle acceleration from a highway cruise speed. I was really satisfied with how the V6 responded.

The main reason I got the Hemi in the 2011 was that I was expecting to do some towing of a camping trailer. And the Hemi proved it's worth there. But I don't have the trailer anymore so I don't need that kind of pulling power anymore.

Also we took a little trip a couple of days after I got the Overland about half on rural highways and half on the interstate and I averaged 24.5 mpg. So I'm pretty happy about that considering I only have about 325 miles on a new engine.

My 0-60 on 92oct hemifever tune. Didn't have it in sport mode and didn't get the greatest start, just wanted to get some idea of what she would do.

Re: 0-60 times JGC V6 & V8

I'm getting about 2 mpg better in town. Havnt been on a trip so I dont even know what my driving would get on highway. Been running on the 89 tune for a while for the smoother ride. The 92 is a whiplash of fun with a extremely sensitive gas pedal.

I test drove a 14 before buying my 12. I noticed that the extra gears really got it moving quicker and had faster shifts. I believe with a HemiFever tune adjusting the shift points like it did with my 6speed that the 8 speed will be a totally different beast, possibly in the mid 5 sec 0-60 with the bolt ons. I know I could pull a sub 6 in sport with a little twon foot action.
