Of course, even though both are supposed to have the same tunes, with the Trinity having additional features. Sounds to me like they're taking advantage of us to the "tune" of $200.
I'm definitely in........and of course they will put in on the Trinity as opposed to the Intune. $200 more per unit. Eventually it will be on the Intune, but who the hell is gonna wait??? lol
I have a Diablo Predator from my previous vehicle. Anyone know if it will work? Seems silly to spend extra coin on a new tuner with special effects I don't need.
Nevermind....looks like they're only verifying the Trinity as of now.
I'm a little confused. Does the trinity need to be connected to the OBD-II diagnostics port at all times or just when you want to reprogram the vehicle?
How will this work in conjunction with the Select Terrain? I thought the shift points were different on sport vs normal. Normally with a tune there is a reprogram for the transmission.
If there is a chance that this tune will allow me to improve on the awful shift points on my 2012 Overland V6 then I would be interested. I dont care about adding horsepower because no matter what I do my V6 Overland will never be fast, but I would like to atleast make it a somewhat enjoyable driving experience. As much as I like my Overland, it is just a very dull driving experience and I know for a fact its because of how they programmed it to shift and not entirely because its the V6. I know this because if I shift manually where I want it to its actually pretty damn peppy and more enjoyable to drive. I get so pissed when im trying to accelerate up a slight incline with cars behind me and the Jeep upshifts at the most ridiculous timing. So here I am in a 5000lb SUV with a little V6 trying to accelerate at 1,000rpm. Drives me nuts!
I will probably get a 2014 assuming those would be better, or give the Overland to my wife and get myself back into some sort of car.
So does anyone know if this tuner can fix the above complaints?
I tuned my 2005 Hemi Limited when I had it with my Trinity and also did a transmission reprogram. I can tell you it makes a big difference, nice snappy shifts. I would go for it!
Sorry I'm new to the domestic tuning world. If a friend has a intune that he doesn't use anymore, can I download the new Jeep supported tunes and install it on my Jeep using his device?
Make sure it comes with the USB cable, CD, OBD-II diagnostics port cable and windshield mount. You probably need to install the software onto your computer and the connect the Trinity to you computer via USB cable and update it like that. Sort of like updating the iOS of the iPhone.
Diablo is going to make some nice cheddar. Just think how excited us Jeep guys are. Think about the guys with Ram's, Chargers, Challengers, and 300's. I bet they are going to sell out and be back ordered.
Thanks for elaborating. This does seem appealing and something I'd be interested in. I noticed awkward shifts when accelerating uphill...would be nice to smooth it out.
Actually contacted the company and they told me that the Ram will be first, but the Grand Cherokee will follow right after. I got the impression it would not be long at all.
