I just put a corsa catback exhaust on my 5.7....now i want it all. I jus ordered a stage 2 afe cold air intake ....i was looking for headers to put in but i cant seem to find anything...is there anywhere i can find em? And will it be worth it....and lastly i am thinkin about getting a chip but wat kind of power increase will i be lookin at with which ones? Thank you for your time guys any info will be greatly appreciated
I think most of the guys around here use Diablosport Trinitys for hardware with HemiFever tuning. It is good for maybe 15 - 20 HP. You also may want to consider a ported throttle body, available from Fastman or a couple other places
Ive thought about getting the diablo but i. Dknt want to mess my computer up , is it safe? And will it give me the increase in hp? I hear alot of mixed reviews.... Im def looking into the fastman ported throttle body
yeah I couldn't find much in the header department when I was looking also, what I did find was that its a dam tight squeeze. Also the 6.1LSRT8 stock exhaust manifold fit our 5.7L's nicely and its an upgrade, but you will also need to cut 2 things, the gaskets in half or else they will leak and the other I think is to trim a piece off the bellhousing or something I don't remember. also you will need a custom mid section exhaust after that.
I dont want to have to modify that many things just to get a few hp, but the ported tb is soundin pretty good to me...and y the catchcan? Is that only if i go with the srt manifold and cut the gaskets?
No the catchcan is just a nice mod for the 5.7L. No HP gains, but it prevents oil from going into the intake manifold and messing with timing and detonation. Also prevents the intake manifold and the back of the throttle plate from gunking up.
contact american racing headers, they should have them available but not listed, Assuming the headers are the same as the durango, which they definitely have.
I work 9-7 mon-fri in Newark NJ .. then I drive back home to LongIsland .. so I don't really have time to see or call him during the week to "chat" I don't mean to be taking this out here, its just why cant he answer my questions via email when he is ALREADY EMAILING ME.
This is the type of thing that concerned me...It's one thing pulling apart an older car, but I have some real reservations concerning pulling the fenders off a brand new vehicle. The ends don't justify the means. What kind of increase are we talking about...maybe 20 h.p.?
Exactly why I think this is one purchase that I will not be making. the cost and the work to a brand new car, does not add up to a smart choice for me.
The GOOD: adding HP, changing the exhaust note and adding to the cool and Wow factor.
The BAD: Cost, disassembly of a new car, Additional heat, additional cabin noise.
