You've got all the same mods so you should be there with a tune. I'm excited to see everyone making these tanks as fast as they should be!

The ECO light, at least in the 2011-2013, is not always tied to the MDS being active or inactive. From the owner's manual:

"This message will appear whenever the Multi-Displacement System (MDS) (if equipped) allows the engine to operate on four cylinders, or if you are driving in a fuel efficient manner. This feature allows you to monitor when you are driving in a fuel efficient manner, and it can be used to modify driving habits in order to increase fuel economy."

My interpretation of this is that the "OR" applies only to engines without MDS (i.e. not the 5.7 hemi). Particularly because if you select any gear other than "D" (i.e. 5 or 6) with the hemi then the ECO light never comes on, no matter how fuel efficient the driving style (i.e. MDS is always off).

This sounds pretty reasonable as well.

Re: 2012 Overland 5.7 0-60 run

Nice time. I used to want a tuner for my Ram. I've since read of so many issues -- no matter which brand -- that it's not worth the risk on a daily driver.

I guess issues depend on how radical you get. Disable traction control, you get the ABS light because it disables ABS as well, for example. I'm with you on not screwing up your daily driver, but some smart mods can make it way more enjoyable to drive.

I just did the hemifever/inTune thing and am really happy with the results. I wasn't after more power, etc. I just wanted a better behaved drivetrain and I got it, along with some more power and better responsiveness to boot.

I disabled MDS in the tune and notice the Eco light come on if I am driving in a "fuel efficient manner". Before disabling the MDS the Eco light only came on if I was running on 4.

Anyway, get a tune for your hemis from hemifever, leave your tires stock, and don't disable traction control and you'll never be able to tell you have a custom tune other than the fact your vehicles will work better!
