2012 WK2 oil filter version (AB vs AD) question

I did a search but could not find an answer to my question.

I have a filter for my 2012 Jeep at home (3.6 Pentastar engine). It is a Mopar filter, part# 68079744AB. I see that there is a newer version that ends in "AD".

The previous one I used was "AC" and I am sure the one before was "AB".

My question is can I still use the filter I have at home? I can't get information on the differences between these revisions online.

Please advise.

Many thanks in advance!
-A

yes you can still use it.

you probably cannot tell the difference if you held both in your hands.

Re: 2012 WK2 oil filter version (AB vs AD) question

Thanks, xJoshxx!

I ended up going to Walmart and picking up a new filter. It was marked "AD". You are correct, it is hard to tell the difference.

Cheers,
-A
